BONAR Bridge are looking to do the double over Loch Ness in Inverness tomorrow when the two teams clash in North Caledonian League Division Two.

The Migdale outfit recorded a 1–0 victory when the two teams last met in December.

Bonar are in fifth place, three points behind Loch Ness but with one game in hand.

Saturday is Loch Ness’s final game and if Bonar Bridge win, they will move level on points, knowing a draw with Alness in their final match would cement fourth place.

Bonar Bridge manager Robert Mitchell says they are looking to end the season on a high and get a positive result at Canal Park on Saturday.

“We are confident within ourselves that we will get a result,” says Mitchell.

"Mathematically we can still finish third, although that would be a big ask.

“But we are just taking one game at a time.

“If we get a win on Saturday, we go equal on points with Loch Ness with a game more to play against Alness United.

“But it is certainly one game at a time for us. Our only objective is to go and get a win against Loch Ness on Saturday.

“Then our thoughts will turn to Alness United the week after.”

Mitchell hopes to take a strong squad to Inverness on Saturday.

He hopes they will be in good condition after playing a warm-up match against Golspie Sutherland on Wednesday night.

But Mitchell says the big result for Bonar Bridge is they can take to the field again after being out of action for five months.

“We are just looking forward to finishing off the season the way that it should be,” he said.

“It was the right decision to suspend the season until now, but it was also the right decision to play the league to a finish.”
