Ross Sutherland RFC have been active over the last week with numerous games, training sessions and a public meeting.
The senior Wild Cats team were hit by a late call off on Saturday but the squad held a well attended training game instead.
Earlier in the day mini rugby training took place in Invergordon and numbers continue to grow. Golspie High School raised an S1/S2 team to play the rest of Ross in a practice game, and a combined Ross U15/U16 team aided Highland RFC U15 team in their cup preparations by playing a practise game.
The visiting team impressed in a competitive encounter, running up a number of scores but with Ross flying winger Alan Bragazzi from Golspie bagging a brace of tries in reply.
The following day a Ross U15 team travelled to Elgin for a cup game and, despite being short of players, put up a brave performance.
Dornoch’s Findlay Foulis and Invergordon’s Callum Sangster got on the score sheet before the team were inevitably defeated.
Next Saturday, the Ross Wild Cats play Highland IIs who are top of the league and closing in on the title following their recent win against Stornoway.
