Mr Jones’s first slide presentation will cover his “Unpeeled”, 1000-mile, six-week canoe journey in the Yukon wilderness with fellow adventurer Dave Crosbie.

Listen to stories of being followed by wolves, being lost in the Richardson mountains and being eaten alive by giant mosquitoes.

After a short break Mr Jones will continue by presenting his second adventure of the summer, a solo sea kayak journey off Vancouver Islands, north east through the Johnstone Strait and the infamous Inside Passage.

He will describe close encounters with black bears, watching breaching humpback whales and passing killer whales.

The event, which takes place from 3.30pm in the community lounge at Golspie High School, is part of a series of talks Mr Jones is giving at north venues in February.
