A £200,000 package of works is set to bring benefits to users of the A9 Trunk Road.

Scotland TranServ, acting on behalf of Transport Scotland, will carry out essential carriageway maintenance on this vital trunk road on the section between Latheron and Thurso, at Bullimore.

The work is proposed to commence on Monday , 2 July and will last for two weeks. To minimise the impact on weekend traffic the works will be carried out from Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm.

Outwith working hours and throughout the weekends, traffic management will be lifted to assist the easy flow of traffic.

In order to carry out the resurfacing works the Trunk Road will be reduced to one lane with a 10mph convoy system in operation to allow safe passage through the works. Site staff will take in account as far as possible ferry sailing times in operating the convoy system.

Local access will be maintained as far as possible and emergency services will have unrestricted access at all times.

Motorists should allow extra time for their journeys and pay attention to any advisory signs which will be in place throughout the works. For real time journey planning information visit www.trafficscotland.org.
