The new summer season at the Dorothy Dick Studio Gallery in Scourie has opened.

The temporary exhibition this year is of work by two artists from the Black Isle Abstract Group.

Alex Dunn, from Strathpeffer, is interested in pattern, repetition and colour while the work of Ian Barr, from near Fortrose, reveals an interest in architectural form and the distillation of visual experience.

These two very different approaches to art make for a stimulating show. The exhibition continues until August 4.

Dorothy Dick Studio Gallery now has five rooms open, with Dorothy’s sculpture to the fore, along with selected works from her own collection of prints, drawings and paintings by Scottish artists, including Jack Know, Dame Elizabeth Blackadder, Margot Sandeman and Philip Reeves.

The Dorothy Dick Gallery, 47 Scourie, is open from Tuesday to Saturday 1pm-6pm or by arrangement – telephone 01971 502013.
