FRIDAY, DECEMBER 8

Shalom the Star

Meet Shalom the Star and follow the Star Trail at Dornoch Cathedral and find out what Christmas is all about. An activity for all the family. Runs from 11am most days until Christmas Eve.

Live Music

Live music from Addie Harper at the Hut, Bettyhill on Friday from 11am. Refreshments and mince pies.

Christmas Cafe

Melvich Primary School Parent Council Christmas cafe at the school on Friday12pm-2pm. Kids' carols and Christmas songs, soup, sandwiches, cakes and raffle.

Film Night

Dornoch Heritage Society film night at Dornoch Social Club on Friday 7pm. Mulled wine and mince pies. Quirky quiz. £5 entry.

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 16

Christmas Carnival

Dornoch Library Christmas carnival on Saturday 10am-12pm. Cookie decorating, crafts, lucky dip and face painting.

Community Market

North Coast Market’s Christmas market at Bettyhill Village Hall on Saturday 11am-3pm. Food and craft fair, teas and coffees. Last market of the year.

Festive Workshops

Lairg and District Learning Centre is holding a number of festive workshops on Saturday including making Christmas baubles, digital Christmas cards, wicker stars, snowman ornaments and candlesticks from wood. Lairg Winterfest

Lairg’s annual Winterfest returns with its own extra special brand of Christmas magic on Saturday.

The day starts at 12pm with church bells ringing to open the festive parade. Reindeer from Cairngorm Reindeer Centre will pull Santa in his sleigh along the Main Street to the community centre where all the activities are based.

Santa Claus will be in his grotto in the centre to greet children from 12.30pm-4pm. His reindeer will be at the rear of the centre throughout the afternoon.

Christmas Craft Fair, cafe, family fun fair and children’s entertainment.

Pantomime

Theatre Presto presents Cinderella at Tongue Village Hall on Saturday from 6.30pm.

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 17

Christmas Walk

Sutherland Walkers Christmas special 4.5 mile walk from Rogart via Rovie to Dalmore on Sunday from 10am.

Lunch after the walk to be confirmed. Contact Patricia Hannah 01863 766061.

Christmas Fair

Kinlochbervie Christmas Craft Fair at Kinlochbervie Village Hall on Sunday 11am-4.30pm.

The Makers@Advent

The Makers@Advent in the West Church Hall, Dornoch, on Sunday 2pm-4pm. A one-off event for anyone of any age, families or folk of their own. Games, lego, crafts, a prayer space and stories to explore, snacks and drinks.

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 12

Christmas Show

Scourie Primary School presents its Christmas show Peter Pan at Scourie Village hall on Tuesday from 6.30pm.

Christmas Carols

Carols for Christian Aid at Dornoch Cathedral on Tuesday 7pm. Informal service of readings and carols. Donations at the door.

The Nutcracker

East Sutherland Live Arts and Entertainment will livestream the Nutcracker on Tuesday 7.15pm at Brora Primary School. Fairytale magic comes together with spectacular dancing in this unforgettable classic ballet.

WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 13

Scourie Bay Walk

Join the countryside ranger for a two-hour walk of just over a mile along the coast of Scourie Bay on Wednesday 10.30am-12.30pm. Over 18s only. Book via Eventbrite.

THURSDAY, DECEMBER 14

Christmas Concert

Golspie Choral Group Christmas concert at Fountain Road Hall, Golspie, on Thursday 7.30pm. Donations at the door in aid of Macmillan.
