Late night shopping at Brora on Friday 6pm-9pm Refreshments and free raffle.

Bingo

Strathnaver Hall presents prize bingo on Friday 7pm. Tea, coffee and raffle.

Doll Community Association prize bingo at Doll Hall on Friday 7.30pm for 8pm. Teas. BYOB. In aid of hall funds.

Lights switch-on

Christmas lights switch-on at Culrain and District Hall on Friday 6pm-8pm. Complimentary mulled wine, hot chocolate, mince pies and sausage rolls. Bottle tombola and raffle. Donations to hall funds.

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 2

Christmas Fairs

St Andrew’s Fair at Dornoch Social Club Saturday 10am-4pm. Outdoor Christmas market at Dornoch South car park 10am-2pm. Santa in his grotto at Dornoch Academy.

Christmas Fair at Melness Community Centre on Saturday 2pm. Mulled wine and mince pies.

Christmas Open Day

Christmas open day at Skerray Shop and Tigh Hughags Gallery on Saturday 11am-4pm. Winter exhibition in the gallery. Mince pies and mulled wine.

Venison and craft sale

Kildonan and Kinbrace Amenities Association annual venison and craft sale in Kildonan Hall on Saturday 2pm. £5 entry inclues tea and homebaking.

Lights switch-on

Christmas lights switch-on at Dornoch on Saturday 3.30pm followed by carols in Dornoch Cathedral at 4pm.

Christmas lights switch-on at Fountain Road car park, Golspie, on Saturday from 4.30pm. Santa and his elves, pipe bands, hot chocolate and mulled wine. Quiz afterwards at Fountain Road Hall 7pm. £3pp. BYOB.

Bonar Bridge anniversary event

Kyle Action Goup festive event to mark the 50th anniversary of the opening of Bonar bridge tomorrow. Arts and crafts fair in Bonar Bridge Hall 4pm-6pm. Parade from the hall to the bridge at 6pm. Lights switch-on at the bridge and also at Stone's Park. Ceilidh in the hall 7.30pm-9.30pm.

Night sky

Join Caithness Astronomy Group and professional photographers from Wild Arena Ltd for an introduction to photography of the night sky at Forsinard Flows on Saturday 7pm. Bring your own camera, tripod and torch. Wear warm clothing.

Christmas Concert

Strath Fleet Buttons and Bows and Gizzern Briggs Christmas concert and ceilidh dance with the Rogart Ceilidh Band at Rogart Village Hall on Saturday 7.30pm. £5 entry includes tea. BYOB.

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 3

Christmas Fair

Christmas fair at Achvarasdal House, Reay, on Sunday 11am-3pm. All money raised will be split between Farr High School and Mikeysline

Live Music

Sutherland Sessions present an afternoon concert at Fountain Road Hall, Golspie, on Sunday from 3pm. Featuring Hannah Rarity and Anna Massie, supported by Poppy Mackay. Tickets available via Eventbrite or at the door.

MONDAY, DECEMBER 4

Christmas Carol Service

Christmas carol service at Durness Village Hall on Monday 6.30pm. Carols and Christmas cheer. All funds to support the work of Highland Hospice.

WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 6

Songs of Hope

Michael McMillan’s Songs of Hope concert at Stoer Village Hall on Wednesday, at Drumbeg Village Hall on Thursday, and at Assynt Parish Church on Friday. Free entry. events start at 7pm.

Christmas concert

Brandon McPhee’s Christmas concert at Strathy Village Hall on Wednesday 7.30pm. Tickets from Bettyhill or Melvich shops.

THURSDAY, DECEMBER 7

An evening of festive glass painting at Helmsdale Community Centre lounge on Thursday 6.30pm-8.30pm. Free glass of fizz and nibbles. To book: 01431 821655.
