FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 10

Festive Market

Elphin Festive Market at Elphin Community Hall on Friday 4pm-8pm and Saturday 10am-3pm.

Concert

Autumn concert at St Finnbarr’s Church, Dornoch, on Friday 7pm. Strathfleet Buttons and Bows will be performing a programme of traditional Scottish music. Retiring collection in aid of the church and music group.

Film Club

Kyle of Sutherland Cinema Club meets at Bonar Bridge Community Hall on Friday 7.30pm.

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 11

Workshop

Art and nature mandala making session at the Kyle Centre, Tongue, on Saturday 10am-1pm. Free. To book : 07860 867118.

Sale of Work

Birichen Sale of Work at Dornoch Social Club on Saturday 10.30am. Proceeds go towards a Christmas party for children in the Birichen area and vouchers for pensioners.

Talk and workshop

University researcher Melanie Mainwaring-McKay will give a talk on 17th century Highland MP Charles Fraser-Mackintosh at Timespan on Saturday 11.30am-12.30pm. She will also lead a book making workshop from 1.45pm-4pm. To book, ring 01431 821327.

Swish and Destash

Swishing event and crafters’ destash at Lairg Community Centre on Saturday 11am-3pm. An opportunity to buy and sell new, unused or part-used craft materials and tools. Entry £5.

Christmas Fair

Christmas Fair at Strathy Village Hall on Saturday 2pm-5pm. Stalls, refreshments and raffle. Santa will be in his grotto from 2.30pm-4.30pm.

Bingo and Karaoke

Bingo and Karaoke night at Brora Rangers Social Club on Saturday 7pm. £5 entry.

Information session

Caithness Chamber of Commerce drop-in information session at the Tongue Hotel on Monday 10.30am-2.40pm. Find out about the work the chamber undertakes.

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 14

Cafe

Cafe at Helmsdale Free Church every Tuesday 10am-12pm.

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 16

Carbisdale Castle Talk

Lady Carbisdale will give at talk at Brora Hub on Thursday 10.30am. She will speak abut the history of the castle, the story of the clock with three faces and the plans for for the castle and a new charity.

Author’s talk

Philip Paris will give a talk at Brora Community Centre on Thursday 7pm about the Scottish witchcraft trials of the 16th-18th centuries. A Clyne Heritage Society event.

Zumba

A series of Zumba classes starts at Invershin Hall on Thursday 7.15pm-8pm and weekly thereafter. Combines exercise and Latin style dance. Fun and motivating. Book: 01863 766190

Field Club Talk

Assynt Field Club talk at Stoer Hall/Zoom on Thursday 7.30pm. Sarah Green will speak about a new outbreak of fungal/insect association on Scots Pine. 01571 844032.
