FRIDAY, APRIL 26

Walk

Medieval Pilgrimage walk at Helmsdale today 11.30am-12.30pm. Meet at Timespan at 11.20am. After a 10-minute strength and balance exercise session, participants will walk over the old Telford Bridge to the cemetery where seating and hot chocolate will be provided. The graveyard was the site of the medieval Helmsdale Hospital. Following the walk, a short archive film of the local area will be screened.

Bingo

Bingo at Strathy Hall tonight. Eyes down 7pm. Tea/coffee and raffle. Tickets £2 a book.

Film Night

Dornoch Cinema Club meets at Dornoch Community Centre tonight from 7pm.

Kyle of Sutherland Cinema Club film night at Bonar Bridge Community Hall tonight 7.30pm.

Art Exhibition Launch

Launch of Jane Cooper’s new art exhibition Threigsinn (Abandoned) at Strathnaver Museum Annex tonight from 7pm. Jane Cooper uses maps and archival images to explore the stories of those removed during the Highland Clearances from straths and glens to coastal strips and further afield.

Live Music

Caithness Big Band performs at Reay Village Hall tonight 7.30pm-10pm. Entry by donation. Raffle. BYOB. All proceeds to Arran’s appeal for Anthony Nolan.

Rogart Development Trust presents the Spring Market at Rogart Mart on Saturday 10am-2pm. Food, crafts and music. Free entry and parking.

Sutherland Community Forest Trust presents an evening of music and chat with author and musician Rob Gibson at The Store Bistro and Bar, Bettyhill, on Saturday 7pm.

Coffee and Catch-up

Over 60s coffee and catch up with biscuits and cakes at the Kyle of Sutherland Hub on Monday 11.30am-1pm. Booking essential.

AGM

Friends of Clyne War Memorial Association AGM at Brora Community Centre on Monday 7pm. Following the business of the AGM, Edda MaRae ‘Remembers’. Tea/coffee and raffle. Donations welcome.

Growing Group

Kyle of Sutherland Growing Group meets at Invershin Community Hall on Monday 7pm-9pm. Plant and seed, magazines and book swap event.
