WATCH: Woman waits 9 hours outside Highland's new Krispy Kreme shop in freezing cold temperatures for a year supply of free doughnuts
A woman travelled by bus to Inverness from Fort William yesterday afternoon to wait in line for over nine hours in the hope of winning a year's supply of doughnuts.
Kelly Anderson, from Fort William, started queuing this morning at 12.30am after she couldn't sleep in her hotel.
She had originally planned to start waiting at 3am, however, as she was bored and 'had nothing else to do' she decided to head to the High Street earlier than anticipated.

She said: "I just wanted a day away and I knew this shop was opening so I just thought why not do a bit of shopping and have some doughnuts!
"I got here late last night when I couldn't sleep, so I just decided to join the queue, which I thought would be massive.
"I wouldn't say I'm doughnut crazy, but I have lots of friends to take them back to."
During the final countdown before the grand opening, Kelly said: "I am quite excited now as I have been waiting for nine-and-a-half hours, but I think it'll be worth it."
Inverness's Krispy Kreme store manager, Mike, said: "Kelly won our first in the queue prize today which means she will get a one dozen box of doughnuts every month for the rest of 2024 from us for free."
However, 12 other doughnut enthusiasts started queuing early this morning to get their hands on a free goody bag stacked full of the company's merchandise.
When talking about the new shop opening, Mike said: "I am delighted, absolutely delighted.
"The weather has been against us, but I have still seen so many people come and go which is brilliant.
"The shop will be great for the High Street and is a great opportunity for new jobs to be created.
"It's a cracking team we have put together and we all work well together, so we are looking forward to a long future together.
"Absolutely buzzing for it!"
