Today, the City of Inverness and Area Committee was presented with a short video giving a virtual tour of Inverness Castle.

The video gives a fly-through of the building interior, showing the rooms as they look now before any changes take place.

Supported by £15 million Scottish Government and £3 million UK Government investment through the Inverness and Highland City Region Deal, plans are underway to transform this purpose-built court building into a visitor attraction. The video has been produced to enable people to view the interior of the building before work begins to transform the castle.

The video is available at the following link: https://vimeo.com/451812927.

It can also be viewed on the High Life Highland website at www.highlifehighland.com.

A Doors Open Weekend planned in May, which would have given the public access to the castle for the first time, had to be cancelled due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. This video footage of the interior of the Castle in its final days as a courthouse, now available to the public, offers a virtual tour of the building pre-transformation.
