A globe-trotting horse lover has just released her latest video, featuring her visit earlier this year to the Highlands.

Equestrian Alyssa Mathews, who is from Wisconsin, United States, is on a quest to ride every breed of horse - there are around 400 in the world.

She launched her Discover the Horse project in September 2017 and so far has ridden more than 50 different breeds in seven different countries.

Her experiences, along with videos showing her riding the various breeds, are documented on her website www.discoverthehorse.com

Ms Mathews said: "Discover the Horse in an equine education project and adventure series. When complete, it will be a world record and the largest equine education project of its kind."

While in the Highlands, Ms Mathews visited Strathspey Highland Ponies at Rothiemurchus; and Ormiston Highlands at Croila Croft, Kingussie.

Ormiston Highlands posted on its social media page: "Becca Cameron and Kirsten Corson took Alyssa out for a ride on a homebred gelding Heather Jock of Creag Dhubh.
