Community projects from in and around Golspie, Rogart and Brora have played a starring role in a new film.

Falck Renewables, owners of Kilbraur Wind Farm, produce an annual video round-up of projects which have been supported by funding from their 12 wind farms around the UK.

The refurbished Rogart Mart was opened in 2022.

Loch Brora Angling Club was showcased in this year’s film which was shown at Falck Renewables’ Sustainable Communities Forum in Fort Augustus in November.

Rogart Primary School also featured, with pupils demonstrating the electric car built by last year’s Primary 7s which is soon to be dismantled and rebuilt.

The film included footage of the community market held at Rogart Mart in October with Jonathan Hedges from Rogart Development Trust explaining more about the refurbishment and plans for the future.

The new play park at Brora Primary School also made an appearance with Jane Mackintosh from the school’s parent council highlighting the benefits of the new equipment.

Erin Murchie, Falck Renewables community relations manager, said: “The community benefit trusts who administer the funding from our wind farms are all volunteers and they support many incredible projects.

"The work being carried out by community groups around our Kilbraur Wind Farm is incredibly diverse and benefits a wide range of people and we were thrilled to be able to showcase a selection of their projects in our annual video.”
