A WESTER Ross community group has outlined plans for the opening of its play park.

Shieldaig Community Association is planning a village party to celebrate the event on Friday, June 3 from 1pm.

It posted: "We've invited the Queen but she can't make it, so we hope you all can!"

Complimentary venison burgers and sausages on a first come, first served basis are being cooked by Linas Batavicius on his Delicious Food van. He will be selling other options and chips throughout the afternoon.

Nanny's will be selling ice creams with one free ice cream for all the village children.

The community group said: "Bring your own drinks and a picnic blanket and let's hope the sun shines! But let's face it, the kids won't mind!"
