TRAFFIC on a busy section of the A9 is flowing freely again after an earlier crash blocked it in both directions, Traffic Scotland has confirmed.

The road was blocked near the B9176 junction at Evanton this morning at around 10.05am, with Traffic Scotland issuing an alert at 10.45am.

Two vehicles were involved, and it is understood that one of them was a Transit-style van.

In an update at 12.30pm Traffic Scotland confirmed that the road had now fully re-opened.

A Police Scotland spokesman added: “We were called around 10.05am on Saturday, 22 July, to a report of a two vehicle crash on the A9 at the junction with the B9176 at Evanton.

“Emergency services attended and both drivers were attended to by the Scottish Ambulance Service.”
