Raigmore Hospital has suffered from flooding as have many areas of Inverness.

The waiting room at Raigmore Hospital’s Emergency Department has been closed on a temporary basis due to localised flooding.

Anyone attending the Emergency Department during this time is asked to follow the signage from the main door which is redirecting to a temporary waiting room.

Ambulance staff entry to the unit has also been moved to the other side.

The hospital’s Estates Department and a contractor are currently working to rectify the problem as soon as possible.

Jane Buckley, divisional general manager for the medical division at Raigmore Hospital, said: “The heavy rainfall overnight has had an impact on the waiting area in our Emergency Department. We have put in temporary measures to ensure the department remains fully operational. We would like to apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause.”
