'Missing' David Bennett, from Tain, has been tracked down

Police have thanked the public after tracking down David Bennett, who had been reported missing.

Officers issued an appeal earlier this evening after the 60-year-old was last spoken to at around 9pm yesterday.

The force said they were growing increasingly concerned for the welfare.

But a spokesman has posted on social media: "David Bennett (60) missing from Tain has now been traced.

"Thanks for your assistance in this matter."
