UPDATE: Landline service restored to Durness area

The BT Group has announced that landline service has now been restored to Durness.

Customers in Durness and the surrounding area were unable to use their landlines yesterday after the radio link that provides the service was disrupted due to poor weather conditions.

Mobile and broadband services were unaffected and calls to 999 could still be made from any mobile phone.

A BT Group spokesperson said: “The landline service was restored in Durness at around 12.30pm today, after engineers completed work on site."
