The A9 is open again following a crash between a lorry and car north of Aviemore last night.

The accident happened at around 6.10pm and Traffic Scotland reported the road was still closed at 4am today, but clear by 5am.

Emergency services were sent to the scene between Aviemore and Granish.

It is not known what actions were taken or the condition of anyone involved.

The carriageway was closed in both directions for at least 10 hours and route diversions were put in place for other motorists.
