Police Scotland has confirmed a man has been charged after an HGV collided with a railway bridge in Inverness on Monday.

The HGV toppled over in Lower Kessock Street in Inverness yesterday, causing the temporary closure of the Far North Line and Kyle Line.

The road was closed until early evening and ScotRail cancelled north and westbound services until 6.30pm while the bridge was checked.

A series of road diversions were also put in place.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said a report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.
