April, who has been piping for six years and is also an accomplished whistle player has been to the Calgary Stampede and also on tour in Spain with Sutherland Schools Pipe Band.

She will be joined at the event by Arabella Rennie a former Golspie High School pupil, now studying at the National Centre of Excellence in Traditional Music.

Event promotors are Sutherland Sessions, which was founded to encourage established musicans to perform in the county and to foster home grown talent.

A group spokeswoman said: "We're delighted to welcome April and Arabella to Sutherland Sessions."

Hamish Wood releases his third solo album The Woods on the same day he performs at Clashmore. The Woods explores the landscape, history, folklore and people of his native Strathspey. Visit www.sutherlandsessions.com for more information.
