Two vehicle crash blocks A9 in both directions near Evanton in Ross-shire, Traffic Scotland confirms

MOTORISTS are being warned to expect delays after a two-vehicle crash blocked the A9 in Ross-shire near Evanton.

Traffic Scotland issued the warning at around 10.45am.

A spokesman said: "The A9 at Evanton is currently blocked in both directions due to a two car collision.

"Traffic is currently being held by police and is stationary at the minute. Please take care on approach."

An update an hour later added: "The A9 at Evanton remains blocked in both directions.

"Traffic is currently being held by police and is stationary at the minute. Recovery for the vehicles has now been arranged."

It is unknown if there were any injuries.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that its crews were not required at the scene.
