Pair arrested in Ullapool over housebreakings and thefts in Ross-shire, Sutherland and Orkney; man and woman will appear at Inverness Sheriff Court after being charged

A MAN and woman are due to appear in court tomorrow to face a string of housebreaking and theft charges over incidents in villages in Ross-shire, Sutherland and Orkney.

The 48-year-old man and the 46-year-old woman are due to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court on Monday.

They were traced in Ullapool on Saturday, and arrested for offences that included housebreaking and theft between April and May.

The offences happened at various premises and locations, including Torridon and Achnasheen in Wester Ross; Lochinver, Scourie, Stoer, and Lairg in Sutherland; and Lyness and Hoy on Orkney.

Detective Inspector Bryan Ronald said: “I would like to thank the public for their assistance in helping with our enquiries into these incidents.”
