Top Highland farmer Donald Fraser Snr passes away a week after his 70th birthday following stint on BBC's This Farming Life
A much respected figure in the Highland farming world has passed away just a week after his 70th birthday.
Donald Fraser Snr was a much loved figure in the agricultural community and ran Dunain Mains family farm with his wife Mary and son Donald.
The property has been in the family since 1936.
In a post on social media Farm Ness paid tribute to Mr Fraser, who is currently appearing on BBC2's "This Farming Life" programme.
He was also a director of Dingwall Auction Mart, a member of the wool board and a stalwart of the Black Isle Show.
The social media post said: "He is loved for his cheeky sense of humour and a work ethic second to none.
"Donald will be sorely missed by all and none more so than his wife Mary, son Donald and partner Joanna, grandkids Alistair and Felicity, brother Hugh and wife Shona, sister Fiona and husband Jim and all his nieces and nephews.
"He will be missed by all at Dunain Mains but especially Graham and Peter who have worked here since they were boys.
"His passing is very sudden and unexpected. The list of people is endless and we thank you at this time for your kind thoughts and wishes.
"And of course those of you who have followed our social media for a couple of years will remember him as ‘Top Dog’ where we are very lucky to have recorded much of Donald’s antics.
"This is the last picture to be taken, Mary’s favourite photo of him and him finally sitting down in a restaurant appreciating all of his hard work."
