Trains between Inverness and Wick facing cancellations today after almost a week of disruption

ScotRail have announced that trains connecting Inverness and Wick are yet to return to regular service after almost a week of major disruption.
Trains on the Far North Line were suspended on Thursday, October 19 for safety reasons ahead of Storm Babet.
Although some services have resumed, train journeys are still being affected today with expected cancellations and delays as works are carried out on infrastructure along the line.
On Monday Network Rail shared pictures of the damage to the rail tracks northwest of Helmsdale, which they said they were repairing.
A Scotrail spokesperson said: "Work continues on the wash aways on the Wick Line and alterations and cancellations can be expected until this work is complete which is anticipated to be on Wednesday 25th
"The safety of customers and staff is always Scotlands Railways highest priority, and we will not re-open routes until it is judged safe to do so.
"Customers are advised to check their complete journey on the ScotRail website, mobile app, or social media channels before setting out."
All other services have returned to normal after the storm.
The line is expected to reopen later today.
