Train fault sparks cancellation of Wick-Inverness service

RAIL passengers on the Far North Line have been warned of disruption after an afternoon services was cancelled due to a fault.

The 12.34pm Wick to Inverness will not run on Monday.

ScotRail said it had organised some replacement transport for those affected.

One 16 seater bus will provided by Dunnett's from Wick to Inverness at 12.34pm and two 16 seaters provided by Dunnett's from Thurso to Inverness at 1.06pm.

"We also have ticket acceptance in place with Stagecoach North buses from Wick to Inverness," added the spokesman.

"Just show your valid ticket or smartcard to the driver when boarding the bus.

"Please speak to station staff or use the help points on the platform for further information."

The latest disruption comes after it emerged that one-in-three Highland trains are failing to arrive on time.
