POLICE have appealed for witnesses after a tractor damaged a car near Ardgay.

A tractor, travelling on the A836 in the vicinity of Fearn Lodge at 2.30pm on Friday, September 29, struck a blue Volvo car heading southbound as the two vehicles passed each other on an s-bend.

The tractor did not stop but, appealing for information, police said the nature of the collision meant it was possible that the tractor driver may have been unaware contact was made.

A spokesman said: "At that time a tractor travelling in the opposite direction has due to the space it was taking up on the carriageway struck the Volvo with its cabin steps causing damage along the side of the vehicle.

"The driver of the tractor has continued his journey, possibly unaware of the contact made."

Anyone with information in respect of this incident is asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference "CR/245994/23".
