One of the founders of the company promoting the iconic North Coast 500 route is to step down.

NC500 Ltd's executive chair Tom Campbell is to leave the company at the end of this month to take up a new role later this year.

He has been with the company since its inception seven years ago.

Last year North Coast 500 Limited worked with some 800 member businesses across the region, showcasing the route’s offering through its dedicated website, visitor app, podcasts and media campaigns.

North Coast 500 Ltd interim chairman David Hughes, said: “Tom’s vision, passion and pride in the north Highlands have been instrumental in the establishment of the NC500 route as one of Scotland’s most prominent tourism offerings, helping to attract thousands of visitors to the area each year.

"He leaves North Coast 500 Limited as a unique global brand, adding substantial value to the activity of local businesses across the north Highland region.

“A strong, committed and experienced management team, led by our director of operations Craig Mills, will ensure a smooth transition as we move to appoint a new chairperson.

"We wish Tom every future success as he looks forward to the next chapter in his career.”

Mr Campbell, said: “I leave with a real sense of pride in what has been achieved.

"I would like to thank the Board and the team for their support and leadership during my time with NC500.

"I am confident that the board’s commitment, vision and determination to make a difference, will continue as a defining factor for the future of tourism in the north Highlands”.
