Tickets to go on sale for newly-rebranded MacPiping Hot Forres

TICKETS are set to go on sale for this summer's piping in Grant Park – which has been rebranded as MacPiping Hot Forres.

Organiser Andy Macdonald, who brought MacMoray Festivals to Elgin's Cooper Park, was last month successful with a bid to return a piping event to Forres.

The British Pipe Band Championships – to be branded as MacPiping Hot Forres – will take place at Grant Park on Saturday, June 8.

Tickets for the event will go on sale on Friday, March 29, at 9am – with a special announcement price seeing the cost frozen at 2018 levels.

This means adults will be £15, with children considerably cheaper. Interest in tickets can be registered at YbdMusic.com and a link to buy tickets will be sent on March 28.

Andy Macdonald said: "I have decided to freeze the prices from Forres' last piping championships which took place in 2018 as a special announcement price.

"We want to make the festival affordable and as cheap as possible for everyone. We will have VIP area, seated view point and standard tickets available."

A total of 120 bands, 4000 pipers and between 15,000 and 20,000 spectators are expected at the event, with bands set to travel to Forres from across Great Britain and beyond.

According to organisers, the event will generate around £2 million for the local economy.
