Award-winning Scottish singer/songwriter Elaine Lennon is set to bring her “Homebird Sessions” to Rosehall Village Hall tonight (Friday, September 30).
She will be joined by Jesse Terry, a guest artist from the USA.
The two will take turns to perform acoustic versions of their songs, sharing stories behind them, alongside gems of wisdom from their musical journeys.
Ms Lennon is a winner of a Danny Kyle Open Stage award at Celtic Connections in January 2019 and has been rated as ‘one to watch’ by Nashville Songwriters’ Association International.
Her self-titled debut album won the first-ever album of the Year Award in 2020 from Celtic Music radio, a Glasgow-based community radio station.
She started the Homebird Sessions online during the coronavirus pandemic in 2020 and attracted international acts and home-based songwriter guests.
Her current tour is a natural evolution of the highly successful online events.
Rosehall is the only venue in Sutherland to have been selected to be part of the Scottish Government's Scotland on Tour initiative, which is aimed at getting performers back on the road after the pandemic by supporting them with the cost of touring. It is also designed to see venues welcome back audiences.
The Rosehall event starts at 7.30pm and tickets £12 are now on sale at: Invercassley Tearooms, Rosehall, The Rusty Coo, Lairg, Hair at the Barn, Ardgay. Pay by card by calling 01549 475080.
Tickets will also be on sale at the door. A raffle will take place during the interval. BYOB.
