Scottish Sea Farms has pledged a three year sponsorship deal to support Lairg Angling Club’s annual Shin Open fishing competition, being held this year on 23 July.

The sponsorship money will be used to provide trophies and prize money, as well as helping with annual running costs. The club expects around 30 competitors from every corner of Scotland to take part on the day.

Murray Munro, Manager at Scottish Sea Farms, Loch Shin said: "We work hard to protect the fishing environment on Loch Shin and were delighted to have been approached by the club to support this annual competition.

"I am sure the trophies will be highly sought after on the day. The Scottish Sea Farms’ £100 Note Trophy will be presented for the Best Catch of the Day along with a £100 note, and the Scottish Sea Farms’ Biggest Fish of the Day Trophy will be awarded along with a £50 note. There is also a consolation prize for the "Poorest Catch" or "None Caught" on the day.

Lairg Angling Club currently has over 90 members.
