Three people taken to hospital after crash on A9 by Aviemore

Three people have been taken to hospital after a crash on the A9 just south of Aviemore earlier this morning.

Their condition is not currently known.

An 18-year-old man has been reported to the Procurator Fiscal in connection with the accident by Lynwilg which occurred at around 7.20am.

The Inverness-Perth road was closed for more than two hours but has since re-opened in both directions.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called to a report of a two car crash on the A9 near Aviemore at around 7.20am today (Friday).

“Emergency services attended and three people were taken to hospital.

"The road was closed while recovery was arranged.

"It reopened around 9.35am.

“The driver of one of the cars, an 18-year-old man, will be reported in connection with road traffic offences.”
