The driver of this Corsa car, travelling south on the A9 at Cambusmore on Saturday night, suffered only minor injuries, despite having to be cut out of the vehicle.

It was one of three accidents on the trunk road in East Sutherland over the last couple of days.

The 23-year-old man from Brora was taken to Raigmore Hospital, Inverness.

An hour or so later, just before midnight, three local teenagers were injured in a one-vehicle accident on the A9 at Dunrobin.

They are Ben Sutherland and Sean Matheson of Golspie, and Jack Sutherland, Brora.

The three had to be cut from the car by the rescue services and were then transferred to Raigmore Hospital by ambulance with serious, multiple injuries.

No further details of their injuries are being released at this time.

Yesterday morning, on the A9 at Portgower, south of Helmsdale, another Corsa was involved in a collision with a grass-cutting machine. The driver sustained minor injuries but the road was partially blocked for two hours as debris was cleared from the road and the adjacent railway line.
