SCHOOL CLOSURES: Thousands of pupils affected as icy blast causes chaos across the Highlands

SCHOOLS across the Highlands are being affected by bad weather again today with a significant number of closures affecting thousands of pupils across the region being racked up.

Sutherland is again affected with Durness, Golspie, Kinlochbervie, Lairg, Lochinver, Rogart and Scourie amongst areas affected.

Highland Council's closure and partial closure list includes schools which are affected by a lack of transport due to conditions on the roads.

Some mock exams are affected by the closures with individual schools set to keep their communities informed.

It comes amid travel disruption affecting transport across the area.

The list posted by Highland Council as at 8.30am includes:
