Third day of Storm Babet power cuts leaves hundreds of Sutherland residents without electricity

Hundreds of Sutherland residents were without electricity on Saturday morning as Storm Babet continues to wreak havoc.
Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) was reporting power loss in four parts of Sutherland at the time of writing on Saturday morning.
Worst affected again was the Durness area, with hundreds of people reportedly without power according to SSEN's Powertrack online map.
The north-west has suffered a number of electricity outages in the past few days.
And the latest one to hit the Durness area was reported at 10.50pm on Friday night.
As with earlier outages it stretches across a wide area that takes in Loch Eriboll, Loch Hope, Altnaharra and parts of Kinlochbervie.
Elsewhere in Sutherland, three other outages were also being reported.
One centred on an area to the west of Strathy, was reported at 10.10am and engineers say they hope to have back online by 2pm.
Another, to the southwest and west of Loch Fleet, was reported at 7.52am. No update was immediately available on a reconnection time.
And a fourth electricity cut was being reported on land in and south of Nedd. It was reported at 9.50am, and SSEN is hopeful of having power restored by midday.
The power cuts come amid an active amber weather warning for torrential rain across parts of Caithness, Sutherland and Ross-shire.
Up to 100mm of rain is forecast in some locations.
And the deluge is wreaking havoc on roads, with even the A9 forced to close in part of Easter Ross on Saturday morning after the carriageway was flooded and cars became stranded.
