Members of an East Sutherland RotaKids club have been recognised for the efforts they have gone to to help out in their community and with wider causes.

The young RotaKids at Dornoch Primary School have been presented with an International Rotary Presidential Citation by Alistair Risk of the Rotary Club of East Sutherland.

Mr Risk said: “The enthusiastic RotaKids in Dornoch have blossomed under the guidance of teacher Alison Allan and have strived to serve and show kindness to others through the difficult time of the coronavirus pandemic.

“They have carried out numerous projects to help the elderly in their community as well as the community as a whole.

“In addition they have undertaken projects to protect the environment and supported international Rotary projects such as the End Polio and the clean water campaigns.

“They have entered and won writing competitions and shone in the inter school quiz. All in all they have been an example to others."
