A new takeaway has landed in the Highlands.

The Angry Seagull Fish and Chip bar has opened at Dornoch Castle Hotel, serving local fresh food that can be enjoyed in lovely surroundings.

The food van was launched by Grant MacNicol and Magda Meredith during the last week of June.

On the name choice, Grant said: “I have always loved the name and I have had the idea for years.

“Seagulls are known for stealing chips in Dornach - I’m so glad to finally be able to carry out the idea.”

They plan to provide fancy food in takeaway boxes and hope to launch a ‘lobster lunch’ where people can dine in style

“We plan to provide quality food in takeaway boxes”, explained Grant.

He already runs ‘Grant MacNicol at the Castle’ which provides seasonal menus with a Mediterranean twist.

Diners will be able to get a drink from inside the hotel and come outside and enjoy the food served at the takeaway van.

The Angry Seagull Fish and Chip Bar will travel to different locations in the Highlands throughout the year and they plan to be based in Inverness during the winter months.

They also plan to get branded shirts and merchandise so people can keep a memoir of the great name.

Opening times are from 12pm-8pm Wednesday to Friday and seven days a week during summer.
