A MAN convinced by the "incredible results" of a method to help people struggling with alcohol addiction is getting back in the saddle to raise awareness.

But Bruce Rose isn't doing it the easy way...

His latest head-turning challenge, after tackling the NC500 the same way, is a unicycle ride that aims to cross no fewer than eight of Scotland's best-known bridges in a single day.

The 8 Bridge Unicycle Challenge starts this Sunday and will – all being well – see him unicycle over the Cromarty Bridge; the Kessock Bridge; the Tay Bridge; the Forth Road Bridge; the Erskine Bridge; the Ballachulish Bridge and the Skye Bridge before finally crossing the Dornoch Bridge on his return to Easter Ross.

"Too many lives are being destroyed by alcohol today and it is completely avoidable. TSM can and will revolutionise alcohol recovery here in the Highlands and Scotland." - Bruce Rose

He will be driving between the bridges with a support team of two and a van secured by funds donated by The Pat Munro Foundation in Alness.

Explaining his mission, he said: "I am again raising awareness for the Sinclair Method (TSM). TSM has a clinically trialled 78 per cent success rate to help those struggling with alcohol dependency to overcome and regain control of their drinking.

"Having worked in abstinence based models (which work for some), I am yet to see another model of recovery that offers the incredible results as TSM. Alongside medical support, a 1-2-1 online programme and a medication called Naltrexone, alcohol dependency today is completely treatable.

"Too many lives are being destroyed by alcohol today and it is completely avoidable. TSM can, is and will revolutionise alcohol recovery here in the Highlands and Scotland."

Bruce set up the not-for-profit Alcohol Recovery Scotland, which he runs from home, three years ago.

The route and estimated times for Sunday are:

Cromarty Bridge: 4.30am

Kessock Bridge: 5.30am

Tay Bridge: 9.00am

Forth Road Bridge: 10.30am

Erskine Bridge: 12.30pm

Ballachulish Bridge: 3.00pm

Skye Bridge: 5.30pm

Dornoch Bridge: 8-9pm (depending on logistics and traffic)
