AN Easter Ross sex predator has been locked up for 18 months after conviction earlier this year.

Alan Nimmons (38), of Manse Street, Tain, was handed the jail sentence today after earlier being found guilty of four indecent assaults.

Nimmons had been convicted after a jury trial earlier this summer and appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court today for sentence following preparation of a background report.

Nimmons was found guilty of sex assaults on two teenagers in the Railway Hotel, Tain, between August and December, 2008.

He was also convicted of indecent assaults on two young men in the same venue between May and August 2013 and June and July 2018.
