Tain DJ excited for ‘festival vibe’ on Gala Saturday

Tain Gala Association has described the new-look lineup for Gala Saturday evening as having a “festival type vibe”.

Advertised as an evening of music and entertainment for all the family, the Saturday marquee has always been an event to savour for Tain Gala goers.

Local DJ, Ally Mackintosh, who performs under the name ALMAC Sound, is a member of the Gala committee, and will be performing on the night.

He said: "I love the festival atmosphere that has been planned for this year’s gala. We want to embrace community spirit this year and hope to see as many of you as possible.

"I have a few good ideas for my sets this year and can’t wait to share them all with you."

Festivities are set to begin at 4pm, with several acts booked to entertain those in attendance.

Among those taking their place on the stage will be Highland based covers band, The Impact.

There will be a local feel about the evening with 18-year-old singer-songwriter Cameron Ferguson, from Tain, playing along with his four-piece band.

Local artists Lily Grant and Ruaraidh Gollan will also be providing a smooth acoustic atmosphere throughout the afternoon in the bar.

Katee Kross, an artist from Glasgow, will be performing alongside guitarist Ross Barron and another act, The Black Isle Peas, aim to bring some fun to the music on the night with a range of “rap to Jim Reeves”.

Also involved will be artists Wee James and Lets Folk.

The entry price to the marquee this Saturday, July 1 will be £10 per adult, £5 per child/concession and families of four will be welcome to a discounted price of £25.

All those attending who are under 18 after 4pm will be required to show ID and will be issued with a wrist band.
