Organisers were the "Poppy Family" – Gledfield resident Rene Knott and members of her extended family including Alison MacInnes, Rebecca Knott and Pauline Smith.

They have raised thousands of pounds for the charity since taking the "Poppy Pledge" last year.

Their fundraising efforts are in memory of Rene's sister Rhona MacFarlane, Ardgay, who died in tragic circumstances in 2019.

Known as the 'Poppy Lady', Rhona was a PoppyScotland appeal volunteer for more than 30 years and the poppy was her favourite flower.

Rene said: "The soup and sweet was really well attended and once again we are overwhelmed by everyone's support and generosity and cannot thank them enough.

"I would in particular like to thank Jennifer Moffat and Sandra Mackay for all their help in the kitchen. They were superstars!"
