The Sutherland Village Halls Big Coffee Morning is "shaping up to be a great event", organisers have said.
Some 11 halls across the county have now confirmed they are taking part in the event on Saturday, March 26, although a few halls have opted for a different date.
Voluntary Groups Sutherland (VGS) is coordinating the initiative and last month invited community halls and spaces to join the communal coffee morning.
VGS development officer Carol Summers said at the time: "We want halls across Sutherland to host a coffee morning at the end of March.
"This will help raise awareness of their activities and it will build confidence in communities about using their local hall again following the pandemic.
"It is also a chance to have a get-together and enjoy some much needed fun and social contact."
VGS has resources and support available for halls who would like to take part.
Ms Summers told the Northern Times this week that the halls currently involved were: Helmsdale, Rogart, Skerray, Invershin, Kinlochbervie, Rosehall and Culrain as well as Lairg Community Centre, Fountain Road Hall, Golspie, the Doll Hall, Brora, and Dornoch Community Centre.
"We are still awaiting confirmation from four other possibles," she said.
Ms Summers added: "VGS are still keen for any other village halls or community spaces that want to take part to contact us and get involved. It is a great way to get the community out and using the halls."
