Managers of a Sutherland museum are organising a group outing to the Highland Pride festivities next weekend, and are inviting others to join in the celebration.

The Timespan group will gather at the museum at 10.30am on the day to have breakfast, create colourful banners and get ready for a day of celebration with face painting.

A spokesperson for Timespan Museum and Arts Centre in Helmsdale said: "We are excited to announce that Timespan will take part in the Highland Pride Parade and Party in the Park. Come along and march with us!"

This year’s event is taking place in Inverness on Saturday, July 22, and includes a march through the streets of the city to the Northern Meeting Park for speeches, music, food, stalls and more.

They will leave Helmsdale at noon on the community bus to reach Inverness around 1:30pm-2:00 pm.

The Pride March is scheduled to take place from 2:30-3pm, followed by a Pride Party in the Park from 3pm.

Anyone interested in joining the Timespan group is asked to book early as spaces on the bus are limited. Email: enquiries@timespan.org.uk

The cost is £6 (£4 for community card holders), which includes breakfast at Timespan, transport in the community bus, and sandwiches provided by Timespan’s café.

Highland Pride is organised by Highland Pride SCIO in conjunction with the Highland LGBT Forum and with funding from Awards for All (The National Lottery Community Fund) and the Inverness Common Good Fund.
