A former Sutherland man goes all Braveheart in next week's edition of BBC Scotland's Flour Power.

For the tenth and last episode of its run, the TV baking contest, which features contestants from workplaces around the country, is going multi-lingual with colleagues at the Live Language college in Glasgow.

With more than 1000 students attending its classes every year, it’s one of Scotland’s busiest language schools.

Four of the staff got busy for Flour Power, cooking in the kitchen, including Marcus Doo, originally from Ardgay, who created a "monumental" cake in tribute to one of Scotland’s most famous landmarks.

The three other contestants are from Syria, Russia and the Lebanon so Marcus will effectively represent Scotland in this international mix.

He said: “I thought I would make Scotland proud so I’m making one of our most historic monuments… a chocolate Wallace.”

His Wallace monument was put together with some strategic sponge making and tactical manoeuvring of cone wafers into turrets.

All four creations will be assessed by resident judge Nichola Reith and guest judge Calum Bryce, who is a local baker and café owner.

The episode goes out on the BBC Scotland channel at 8pm next Wednesday, and will also be available on the BBC iPlayer.
