A SHORT-term project in Assynt centred on food production and based at the walled garden at Glencanisp Lodge, near Lochinver, is coming to an end.

Project co-ordinator Louisa Potter was appointed in December but her term finishes at the end of this month.

She posted on social media: "As the sun shines and the days lengthen, I am winding down my project in the garden. I am collating the information gathered in the Community Food Growing in Assynt survey.

"I would like to thank everyone for taking part and sharing ideas."

Louisa has had to cancel a Spring Green community event she had planned to hold in the garden on Saturday, March 26.

But she said that instead she intended to hold an open day at which the survey results would be on display. The survey was launched to gauge local feeling on the future of the garden.
