ART EXHIBITION

A new contemporary art exhibition Beatrice: Transition Under Petrocapitalism is running at Timespan Museum and Art Institution in Helmsdale. Open every day 10am to 5pm.

GARDEN

Edderton Community Garden Big Weed today (Friday, June 23) at 10am. Volunteers welcome.

Coffee Morning

Coffee morning at the West Church Hall, Dornoch, today 10.30am-12pm.

CINEMA CLUB

Dornoch Cinema Club meets tonight from 7pm at Dornoch Community Centre for a film screening and raffle.

WHIST

Whist drive at Reay Village Hall tonight 6.30pm for 7pm. New players welcome. Entry £3.

THEATRE

Glasgow based theatre company Theatre Presto summer pantomime Dot and the Ruby Sneakers at Durness Village Hall tonight 7pm-9pm. Loosely based on the Wizard of Oz. Adults £5, children £2. Also at Tongue Village Hall tomorrow (Saturday, June 24) at 6.30pm

WALK

Connecting Communities dog friendly discovery walk following Brora river tomorrow from 11am followed by tea/coffee and a chat at Cocoa Skye. Booking essential. Call 01431 821655

BRORA CARNIVAL WEEK

Brora Carnival Week children’s disco in the marquee tent at Brora Primary School field tomorrow 6pm-7.15pm followed by a Queen dance to Dancing with Sharks from 8pm. The carnival week’s 2023 queen and princess will be selected at the events.

CAR BOOT SALE

Car boot sale at Tesco Tain car park tomorrow 8am-2pm. £5 per car space. Money raised from fee charged goes back into the local community.

OPERA

Scottish Opera’s pop-up summer tour presents opera on a miniature scale with specially created samples of Die Fledermaus and Eugene Onegin at the West Church Hall, Dornoch, tomorrow.2pm and 4pm. Tickets £7 available from www.scottishopera.org.uk

LIVE MUSIC

Musica Viva, a choir from the town of Kranj in Slovenia, will be performing a medley of traditional Slovenian songs at Dornoch Cathedral tomorrow from 6.30pm. Free entry but donations welcome in aid of local food banks.

WALK
