INVERGORDON brothers Tom and Luke Stoltman proved to be a big draw at a book and arts festival which opened in a Tain this week.

The brothers have made a name for themselves on the strongman circuit and accumulated hundreds of thousands of fans around the world.

But their latest success was much closer to home as they helped launch the St Duthac Book and Arts Festival at a Pop-Up Shop and Gallery in the Royal Hotel, Tain.

The dynamic duo made their literary debut with the autobiographical Lifting: Becoming the World's Strongest Brothers.

The new book tells the story of Tom Stoltman, two-time World's Strongest Man, and brother Luke, a five-time winner of Scotland’s Strongest Man and former Europe’s Strongest Man, growing up in a small Highland town.

It proved a hit at an earlier signing in Inverness which had to begin 20 minutes early because of the lengthy queue which had formed.

Festival organisers said: "We had a fantastic turnout to the opening of the St Duthac Book and Arts Festival in our Pop-Up Shop and Gallery.

"Huge thank you to the world's strongest brothers Tom and Luke Stoltman, to local authors Beth Jordan and Clair Walsh, to Ailsa and Charlie Ross who played the bagpipes to Ann and Archie who played beautifully and to the army of volunteers who we couldn't do the festival without."

The annual St Duthac Book and Arts Festival has gone from strength to strength with a growing array of events across the Easter Ross peninsula.

The festival which runs until September 18 includes 39 events and exhibitions, with over 40 talented authors and artists, history and heritage walks, art and writing workshops, music, children’s events and an arts trail that starts in Tain and ends in the picturesque Seaboard villages.
