Street party tomorrow will honour World's Strongest Man stars, Invergordon brothers Luke and Tom Stoltman
THE remarkable achievements of brothers who have put their Easter Ross home town on the map for thousands of fans around the world are to be celebrated tomorrow.
Tom Stoltman has twice been named World's Strongest Man after globally televised competitions in the United States.
Older brother Luke has been named Scotland's Strongest Man multiple times and in 2021 scooped the Europe's Strongest Man title.
The Invergordon men can also lay claim to being the world's strongest brothers having both competed successfully in a string of major competitions.
A celebration event has long been planned in their home town which has already proclaimed their achievements to visitors in welcome signs at entrances to the port community.
The celebration will take place on Saturday, August 27, from noon until 4pm.
Luke and Tom have been hailed "inspirational heroes" by local South Lodge Primary head teacher David Hayes-MacLeod who has welcomed their visits to the school on a number of occasions.
He said: "We want everyone to come along to show these two lads just how proud their home town and friends are of them."
Throughout the afternoon there will be a parade down the High Street led by a pipe band with Luke and Tom following behind to meet the crowd.
A stage where special announcements will be made – including a few surprises – is also planned. Music from local singer-songwriter Davy Cowan and Soundblast Disco is planned plus an appearance by Invergordon Academy pupil, Rhoehaiise Clark.
There will be charitable stalls on the High Street with Herchers Funfair also selling hot food. Gymnastic presentations, circus performers "and much, much more" are planned.
Local primary schoolchildren are getting involved in an art competition with the entries on display in Invergordon Museum on the day to be judged by Luke and Tom.
Youngsters will even be invited to dress up in their favourite strongman costumes which will also be judged on the day with prizes awarded for both competitions.
Mr Hayes-MacLeod, one of those helping organise it, said: "It truly will be a special event. Please do save this date and show these two amazing souls just how proud our little town is of them!"
