The annual north-west Sutherland TrA8tors EUAnite memorial run is to take place on Saturday, September 2.

The sponsored tractor run is in memory of Culkein native Euan MacRae and is called after the distinctive numberplate of his beloved Vauxhall van – A8 EUA. It is a fundraiser for Macmillan Highland.

Euan sadly died in 2017, aged just 19, from small bowel cancer. For many weeks during his illness he received chemotherapy at the Macmillan Suite in Raigmore Hospital, Inverness.

He was treated at the unit with unfailing care and compassion.

Euan’s friend James Morrison, who also has a love of “all things with wheels”, organises the tractor run along with others.

He said: “We want to get as many wheels turning as possible in memory of Euan and to raise money and support the efforts of the staff and volunteers of Macmillan Highland."

The run starts and finishes at Lochinver Harbour, beginning at 10am and returning at around 4pm for a raffle and prize-giving.

Anyone who would like to take part is asked to book in advance by contacting James (07818 628214) or messaging the run’s Facebook page

The first trA8tors EUAnite run took place in 2018 when more than 50 tractors took part. Since then the run has raised thousands of pounds.
