A "Visitor Charter for Sutherland" has been drawn up by Sutherland Community Partnership.

This is in response to the relaxation of Covid restrictions and is being circulated to key organisations and agencies across the county.

It reads:

Welcome to our County...

Sutherland is not just a beautiful, welcoming visitor destination, it is also a place that people call home.

Our communities have worked hard to control Covid-19 and it is vital that we continue to do so, whilst also ensuring the safety of our guests.

As we slowly emerge from lockdown, life is not quite business as usual yet. By helping us over the weeks and months ahead you will be playing an important part in helping to rebuild Sutherland’s tourism industry – and for that we thank you. So, while you are here with us please follow the guidance for a pleasant and safe visit:

• Before you travel check current advice: https://www.gov.scot/coronavirus-covid-19/

• Please don’t travel if you have Covid-19 symptoms

• Maintain social distancing

• Wash hands and use sanitizer regularly

• Use face coverings where advised or required

• Observe restricted numbers in shops, cafes and restaurants

• Many of our shops and eateries offer takeaway and delivery service

• Use contactless payment in local shops

• Respect our natural environment.
